Two opinion polls suggested support for Britain staying in the European Union had recovered some ground following the murder of a pro-EU lawmaker. Holdings in SPDR Gold Trust, the world s largest gold-backed exchange-traded fund, rose 0.39 percent to 912.33 tonnes on Tuesday, the highest since September 2013. A vote on June 23 by Britain to leave the 28-member EU, dubbed Brexit,could tip Europe back into recession, putting more pressure on the global economy. MCX
22/06/2016 10:05am Silver trading range for the day is 40822-42014. Silver dropped as polls showing British voters tilting toward remaining in the European Union reduced investor demand for a haven. The market will watch Fed Chair Janet Yellen s testimony before the Senate Banking Committee for more clues on the timing of the next interest rate rise. Holdings at ishares silver trust dropped by 0.43% i.e. 44.34 tonnes to 10359.63 tonnes from 10403.97 tonnes. The Federal Reserve s ability to raise interest rates this year may hinge on a rebound in hiring that would convince policymakers the U.S. economy is not faltering, its head Janet Yellen told lawmakers. Investors remain wary ahead of Thursday s Brexit vote, as well as Federal Reserve chief Janet Yellen s two-day testimony before Congress. Aluminium hit its highest level in nearly six weeks as the dollar dipped and investors bought more risky assets ahead of a Federal Reserve meeting. Aluminium stocks at three major Japanese ports stood at 337,200 tonnes at the end of May, up 3.8 percent from a month earlier. 14/06/2016 10:08am Gold trading range for the day is 29942-30702. Gold gained as worries about a potential exit by the U.K. from the European Union left investors scrambling for safe haven assets. Holdings in SPDR Gold Trust, the worlds largest gold-backed exchange-traded fund, rose 0.27 percent to 896.30 tonnes on Monday, the highest since October 2013. The Fed, BOE and BOJ will all meet this week, and are expected to hold monetary policy steady against a backdrop of caution about the global economic outlook. Crude oil dropped with the market digesting the fresh OPEC monthly report, and as worries over Chinas economy returned amid a rising oil rig count. OPEC said in its monthly oil report that world oil demand growth for this year is expected to remain unchanged from the previous forecasts at 1.20 mbpd. Demand for OPEC crude is projected to be at 31.5 million bpd this year, unchanged from the previous report and 1.8 million bpd higher than last year. The International Energy Agency will also release its monthly outlook report on Tuesday. MCX

Copper last week faced pressure from the large amount of metal delivered into LME-approved warehouses. Stocks were up more than 18 percent at 213,225 tonnes on June 8, though the latest data shows LME copper stocks down 2,550 tonnes. Crude recovered as support seen as a sharp decline in crude inventories offset a widely expected decision by OPEC to leave its production ceiling unchanged. Energy Information Administration said in its weekly report that crude oil inventories fell by 1.366 million barrels in the week ended May 27. Crude prices hit session-lows after OPEC ended its semi-annual meeting in Vienna without making any adjustments to its production ceiling.
